How to Care for a Braided Pachira Plant

    • 1). Keep the braided money tree in an indirectly sunny spot that is bright for 8 hours daily. Keep the temperature between 60 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit.

    • 2). Apply a general purpose, balanced liquid fertilizer once a month during the fall and winter. Dilute the fertilizer to half strength with water, apply to the soil according to the package directions. Increase the fertilization rate to once every two weeks during the spring and summer.

    • 3). Allow the top 1 inch of the soil to dry out between waterings. When you water, use warm, filtered water. Wipe the leaves with a damp cloth when you water, to remove dust.

    • 4). Fill a tray with pebbles and pour water into the tray until it is half full. Set the plant on the wet pebbles, which will give it the humidity in needs. Trim off any dead or browning leaves with garden shears by cutting them off where the stem meets the trunk. No further pruning is necessary.
