How to Recycle Valentine Crafts
- 1). Strip the graphic off your Valentine's cards, then store the Valentine's images in an envelope. You can reuse them next year as Valentine's cards, hang them for decor or use the images in paper crafts like collages.
- 2). Recycle any unwanted cards with your paper recycling, unless you plan to keep them for sentimental reasons. Valentine gift paper can likewise be recycled with paper, or stored for re-use.
- 3). Turn Valentine's cards or decor into bookmarks or gift tags. Cut the decoration into a rectangular shape, using a ruler to measure or a bookmark or gift tag as a template. For a twist, use cookie cutters as templates to cut shapes for gift tags. Punch a hole in the top and thread ribbon or string through the hole.
- 4). Drop any unwanted Valentine's Day plastic decor, figurines or other craft items at a local thrift store, or donate them to your community's daycare or youth program, where kids can take them apart for their own crafts.
- 5). Shred paper decor and crafts with scissors or a paper shredder to use as packing material.
