Zinwell Multi-Switch Troubleshooting

    • 1). Tighten the coaxial cable connector attached to each jack on the multi-switch by turning the ring clockwise. Check the connection at the other end of each cable to confirm the signal is getting through to all satellite receivers, then check each connection from the receiver to a TV set. This helps you isolate a problem to a specific jack on the multi-switch.

    • 2). Disconnect the cable at the multi-switch jack connected to a receiver or TV that is not working. Twist the connector counterclockwise to release the cable from the Zinwell multi-switch.

    • 3). Attach a different cable to the same jack on the multi-switch, connected at the other end to a receiver and TV that you know is working. If you receive no image or sound on the TV, there is a problem with the wiring or the jack itself on the multi-switch. Replace the switch. If the new receiver and TV connection works normally, the problem is not the multi-switch, but instead may be in the original cables, the receiver or the TV itself.

    • 4). Disconnect and replace the cables that were connected to the malfunctioning receiver and TV, then reattach them to the multi-switch and test the operation. This isolates the problem to a specific cable. If it still doesn't work, then the problem is not with your original cables.

    • 5). Switch out the receiver with a model that you know is working and turn on the TV to test the signal. If you get picture and sound, your problem can be traced to the original receiver connected to the multi-switch. If there is no picture or sound, then the problem is likely within the TV set.
