Google Tool Bar Problems

    Disappearing Toolbar

    • Because of a software conflict, the Google Tool Bar may disappear from Internet Explorer. To fix this, click on "Tools," then "Enable add-ons." Click on the "View" menu and check "Google Toolbar" under "Toolbars." Reset the IE settings in the Advanced tab of Internet Options on the Tools menu, then restart the browser.

    Add-on Conflict

    • The more add-ons installed on a web browser, the more likely there will be a software conflict between the add-ons. Test which add-ons can work with Google Tool Bar by accessing the add-on menu in either Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. Test the add-ons with one another; disable any that appear to cause problems.

    JavaScript

    • JavaScript is an important feature; enable it in your web browser application to make the Google Tool Bar function properly. In Internet Explorer, access the Security tab in the Internet Options menu. Select the "Custom Level" button and enable Active Scripting. In Firefox, click on the "Tools" menu and access the Content tab of the Tools option. Click on "Enable JavaScript."
