How to Make a Wooden Longboard Press

    • 1). Lay your timber flat and drill six 1-inch holes through it so there are three along each 40-inch edge, spaced 18 inches apart, and 1 inch away from the sides and end of the timber.

    • 2). Turn the timber so it is on one of its 12-inch sides. Draw a line down the 6-inch center of this surface in the shape you want for your longboard. This line is what your longboard will mimic when you are looking at its longest edge.

    • 3). Cut the timber along the line using your ban saw. Sand down the saw marks with your heavy-grade sand paper and then with your medium-grade sand paper.

    • 4). Place your unbent and/or unglued longboard between the timber pieces so it is out of the way of the 1-inch holes. Insert the bolts into the holes with a washer on each side of the timber and tighten down the nuts to press your longboard.
