How to Make Paper Look Old That You Can Print on

    • 1). Spread out the newspaper on a flat surface and put your paper on top.

    • 2). Use the emery board to gently exfoliate the paper, creating a thin, fragile look.

    • 3). Take your brown decorating chalk and apply chalk onto a makeup sponge. Use the sponge to apply a layer of brown color to the paper. Repeat with the yellow chalk.

    • 4). Apply several alternating layers of brown and yellow chalk until the desired level of antiqued appearance is achieved. Apply gray chalk to the makeup sponge and add a thin layer of gray to give more dimension to the paper.

    • 5). Leave the chalk to set into the paper for 24 hours. If time is an issue, the chalk may be set with a craft finishing spray. However, the spray may wrinkle the paper slightly, making it more difficult to print on.

    • 6). Repeat on the other side of the paper.

    • 7). Load the paper into the printer to print your desired text or image.
