How to Transfer a Computer to a TV

    • 1). Plug one end of the S cable into the the "S cable to RCA video adapter" and plug the other end into the S cable port in the back of the computer. Plug an end of the yellow RCA video cable into the RCA end of the S cable to RCA adapter, then plug the other end into the yellow RCA port of the TV. All Samsung TVs have RCA ports and most computers have S video ports.

    • 2). Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI port in the back of the computer and plug the other end of the cable into the HDMI port in the back of the TV. HDMI ports are the inputs that allow you to connect to high-definition devices. Not all computers and Samsung TVs are equipped with HDMI ports. An HDMI connection has 19 pins in the connector separated in a top and bottom row in which one row has 10 pins and the other has 9 pins. If both your TV and computer have HDMI ports, this is the only step you need to complete. If both your TV and computer do not have HDMI ports, you cannot use this step.

    • 3). Connect one end of the DVI cable to the DVI port on the back of the computer and the other end of the cable into the DVI port on the back of the TV. DVI cables transmit digital signals to the TV. DVI ports are commonly equipped on newer Samsung TVs but are not standard. A DVI port has 29 pins in the connection. If both your TV and computer have DVI ports, this is the only step you need to complete. If both your TV and computer do not have DVI ports, you cannot use this step.

    • 4). Plug one end of the VGA cable into the VGA port of the computer and the other end into the VGA port of the TV. VGA cables are used on all standard computer monitors. You will have a VGA port on your computer. Not all Samsung TVs are equipped with VGA ports.
