How to Keep Cut Apples Fresh

    • 1). Select fresh apples. Most apples are at their freshest in the fall when they are in their peak season.

    • 2). Slice the apples and wrap tightly in plastic wrap. Make sure there is no air surrounding the apples.

    • 3). Store the sliced apples wrapped in plastic in the fridge or packed with ice to keep fresh.

    • 4). Toss the apple slices with 1/4 tsp. of fresh lemon juice if you want to be sure the apple slices won't brown. Use just a little lemon juice to avoid flavoring the apple slices.

    • 5). Wrap the apples tossed in lemon juice in plastic wrap or place in a zip-top bag and store in the fridge.
