How to Turn Off the Netgear Firewall
- 1). Open your web browser and navigate to the Netgear router configuration website (see Resources).
- 2). Enter your administrator user name and password. By default the username is "admin" and the password is "password."
- 3). Click "Security" and then "Rules" from the menu.
- 4). Select the services and click "Edit."
- 5). Change the rules to say "Any" and "Allow."
- 6). Click "Apply" to save your settings.
