- 1). Tap "Settings" on your Home screen.
- 2). Touch "Wi-Fi" and slide the switch to "On." Your iPod touch will scan for available networks.
- 3). Choose an Internet connection from the list that appears. If there's a lock icon next to the network name, that means it's password protected. If you have the password go ahead and click it.
- 4). Enter the network password when prompted, if applicable. Open networks don't require a password.
- 5). Wait for the Wi-Fi indicator in the top left of the screen to light up. When it does, you're connected. The touch will automatically join the network in the future any time it's in the signal range.
- 6). Surf the Internet and download files as you would on your computer. Adobe Flash files are the exception to the rule; they don't display properly on the touch. As of 2011, apps convert Flash files so you can view them, but these are third-party solutions not provided by Apple.
