Ways to Put Together a Great Gift For a Baby Shower

It is time for your friend's baby shower.
This is the first of your friends to have a baby and you have absolutely no idea of what to get her and what is actually available for babies today.
Baby specialty shops and large baby product stores are a big business today and can be found in all areas across America.
Places like Babies R Us have computerized baby registries that can be accessed by your computer to find out exactly what your expecting friend may want or need.
Many people buy a newborn sized outfit that honestly only fits the baby for a week if at all.
This will give you some other unique ideas that will be enjoyed by the new parents to be.
One idea could be all of the safety devices your child may need when they get a bit older like cabinet locks, a safety rail or safety guardrails to prevent them for going down stairs or falling out of bed.
The first great idea would be to come up with a theme for your gift.
One could be bath time.
This can be made into a creative gift by making the infant bathtub the "basket" that will hold all of the other supplies needed for baby's first bath.
The mild baby soaps and lotions and a cute hooded towel and washcloths can all be placed into the tub.
Wrap it all up in cellophane and tie it with a bow and it will make a great and very useful gift.
Another theme could be centered around eating while on the go or traveling.
This could be something to get a few friends to go in on it with you also.
A foldable portable high chair to take traveling is something that is inexpensive and a great thing to have.
The additional things to go with the eating theme are disposable bibs that you can toss once dirty while out and about, baby food that is in plastic to go containers and bottles too.
All of the smaller items can also be put into the booster high chair to make a fun presentation.
A third theme that can be a useful gift for the expecting parent would be a safety basket.
This can cover all of the things that may not be needed right away with your newborn but certainly will be necessary once your child starts crawling and walking.
Most cabinets and drawers that are reachable by the child will need to have locks installed.
Door knob covers to prevent doors from being opened and electrical outlet plugs are all good things to include in your safety kit.
Perhaps a child friendly first aid kit would be a great thing to include as well.
Hopefully some of these ideas will help you in finding a great gift for your friends baby shower and prevent you from being overwhelmed when walking into a baby specialty store with all of the various options.
Now it is time to go shopping!
