Deborah Alessi And Face Forward
She is known as an anti-domestic violence advocate. Born in Scotland, Deborah Alessi, believe that each person deserves to be respected and treated humanely, especially women and children. However, this has not been the case to some who suffered violence and abuse, where they were treated heartlessly by no other than the members of their own family.
As she travelled in many places, Deborah Alessi was disheartened to hear many stories of sufferings of victims of domestic violence as she herself was too a victim before. However, said experience did not stop her to strive to prove to herself, to everybody especially to her then abuser partner herself worth. She took all the courage to end the horrific relationship she had with her then boyfriend, and she left Scotland when she was just twenty years old.
She continued her life and found her first rewarding career as a flight attendant in Gulf Airlines where she met the Royal Family of Bahrain, the Sheikh Al Khafila. She worked with the familys private jet for two and a half years.
She was truly living a good life, better than before when she was still tied into an abusive relationship. The experience never stopped her desire to help other people until she flew to California where she met her now husband, the famous Hollywood cosmetic surgeon Dr. David Alessi.
They built not only a home but a perfect team to help others. Dr. David Alessi supported his wifes views of helping the victims of domestic violence, thus Face Forward was launched. Their mission is to provide physical and emotional reconstruction surgery to the victims of domestic violence especially the women and children. The treatment would be for free provided that they meet the criteria and one of which is that the survivor must leave the abusive relationship. Another criteria is, the victim must be willing to undergo pre and post counseling therapy with their partner non-profit agencies.
Deborah Alessi is so passionate on helping the victims. She wanted to make sure that they would be given another chance to move on with their lives after the awful experience. She never gets tired of hosting events to raise funds. By word of mouth, the organization received a wide support and so, it enables the organization to extend their mission outside America and now they are reaching the whole world.
