- 1). Download the textbook file to your computer. Again, this file may be in one of various possible text formats, but the file format is inconsequential to the outcome of this process.
- 2). Plug in your iPod to your computer. iTunes should automatically open. If it doesn't, open iTunes.
- 3). Click the iPod icon in the left-hand navigation bar and select the "Summary" tab. Then, click the "Enable for disk use" check box. This essentially turns your iPod into an external hard drive where you will be able to place the textbook file.
- 4). Eject the iPod from iTunes and then unplug the iPod from your computer.
- 5). Plug the iPod back in. The iPod should appear as a drive on your computer.
- 6). Drag the textbook file onto the iPod drive. The original textbook file is now downloaded and saved to your iPod.
