How to Grow an Apple Tree from a Seed

    • 1). Remove the seeds from the core of an apple.

    • 2). Wrap the seeds in a damp paper towel.

    • 3). Refrigerate the seeds wrapped in the damp paper towel for 7 to 14 days.

    • 4). Check on the seeds every few days to see whether they have sprouted.

    • 5). Fill a small pot with potting soil.

    • 6). Remove sprouted seeds from the paper towel.

    • 7). Dig a whole in the potting soil 1/2 inch deep.

    • 8). Place the sprouted seed in the hole.

    • 9). Cover the seed with additional potting soil.

      Water the seedling. Continue to water the seedling every few days. The soil should never completely dry out.

      Place the potted seedling in a sunny place.

      When the seedling outgrows the small pot, replant the tree in the ground.
