Techniques on How to Retrieve a Fingerprint
- 1). Blow up a balloon and secure the knot in place.
- 2). Light a candle using a match.
- 3). Hold the lit candle in one hand and hold the balloon over the flame with the other. Let some black soot collect on the balloon from the flame.
- 4). Rub a makeup brush over the soot until the soot is on the hairs of the brush.
- 5). Rub the makeup brush over an area you want to look for fingerprints, such as a door handle or counter top. When you've found a fingerprint you will see it in the soot.
- 6). Place a piece of Scotch tape over the fingerprint with the sticky side down. Peel the tape back and the fingerprint outline will show on the tape.
