How to Install RAM in an Armada 1750 Laptop

    • 1). Disconnect the power to your laptop. Wear an antistatic strap on one of your arms to ground any static electric charge that might damage your laptop.

    • 2). Insert the head of a flat head screwdriver in the slot between the keyboard edge and the bezel. The bezel is the cosmetic plastic frame that surrounds the keyboard. You will need to remove the bezel to reveal the two clips that hold the keyboard to the system board.

    • 3). Pry the bezel slightly upward using the screwdriver as a lever. Gently pull off the bezel and set it aside.

    • 4). Press and fold up the clips securing the laptop keyboard. Remove the keyboard and take care not to damage the data cable ribbon. The RAM module slot will be on the left of the system board.

    • 5). Locate the two metal claws on the sides of the memory slot that hold the existing RAM module in place. Bend the metal claws outward using your thumb and index finger.

    • 6). Pull the RAM module upward at a narrow angle to remove it.

    • 7). Align the keyhole on the new RAM module to the keyhole of the memory slot. Insert the RAM module into the slot. The metal claws will spring back to their original position, locking the RAM module in place. The RAM module can be inserted only one way.

    • 8). Replace the keyboard and the bezel.
