Where Are Oranges Found in Florida?

    Indian River Citrus District

    • The Indian River Citrus district is located on the eastern coast of Florida, spanning about 200 miles from Daytona Beach to West Palm Beach. Traditionally known for its grapefruit, Indian River oranges are grown along the river. The majority of Indian River oranges are used to make orange juice because of their quality and sweetness.

    Citrus County

    • Citrus County is located in northwestern Florida, and used to be considered a significant citrus producing area of Florida. Although it is no longer a top producer of oranges for the state, Citrus County is still known for its shady orange groves and as a place with farms to pick your own fresh fruit.

    Polk County

    • Polk County is a center for orange and other citrus fruit growth in Florida. Located in central Florida, Polk County has a subtropical climate and well-drained soil ideal to grow citrus fruits. In 2009, Polk County was responsible for over 16 percent of Florida's citrus production.
