- 1). Scoop up as much vomit as possible with a large spoon if the stain just occurred. Discard the vomit.
- 2). Sprinkle baking soda onto the area. Use enough to completely cover the area where the vomit was. Let the baking soda sit for 15 minutes.
- 3). Vacuum up the baking soda.
- 4). Mix 2 cups warm water with 1 tablespoon white vinegar and 1 tablespoon liquid dish soap.
- 5). Pour the mixture onto the carpet area.
- 6). Dampen a cloth and rub the solution into the carpet.
- 7). Pour water onto a sponge. Squeeze out the excess water and wash the solution off with the sponge.
- 8). Blot the area dry with a clean cloth. Let sit overnight. If the odor persists, repeat this process until the odor disappears.
