How to Crochet a Multi Strand Bead Necklace

    • 1). String 15 beads onto the ball of crochet cotton in the order you want them to be on your necklace for the first strand of the necklace. As you work, let the beads fall against the ball of thread, pulling up only the bead you are working with at the time.

    • 2). Crochet a 10-inch chain. Bring the first bead up to your crochet hook. Hook the yarn on the other side of the bead and make a chain stitch, capturing the bead in the center of the stitch.

    • 3). Chain stitch for 1 inch. Pull up your second bead. Chain over the second bead as for the first. Continue chaining 1 inch and adding another bead 13 more times for a total of 15 beads.

    • 4). Chain for 10 inches. Slip stitch into the first stitch to connect the strand as a continuous loop. Fasten off. Weave loose end into chain.

    • 5). String 13 beads for the second strand of the necklace onto the ball of crochet cotton.

    • 6). Crochet a 9-inch chain. Bring the first bead up to the hook and chain over it to hold the bead in place. Continue chaining 1 inch and adding beads as you did for the first strand until you have added 13 beads. Chain an additional 9 inches.

    • 7). Slip stitch into the first chain to close the loop. Hold the two strands of the necklace together. Slip stitch into the first stitch of the first strand to connect both strands. Fasten off and weave in loose end.
