How to Repair an RV Ceiling
- 1). Remove the areas of the RV's ceiling that have been damaged. Cut them out with the saw, razor knife or unscrew the whole panels from their brackets, as necessary.
- 2). Thoroughly dry the interior of the ceiling. Inspect the wood framing beams for wood rot damage or signs of mold and mildew. Spray and clean any areas of mold with a herbicide to kill it completely. For wood rot, remove the soft, rotted wood and coat with a good wood rot stabilizer using the paint brush.
- 3). Measure and cut any cut panels to be replaced. Use the old pieces of panel that were removed as a template for making the cuts if possible. Place the new panels into the opening in the ceiling where the damaged areas were removed. Secure into place against the ceiling frame in the same manner the old panels were installed.
