How to Copy a CD Image to a Memory Stick

    Creating A CD Image (ISO)

    • 1). Go to the ISO Master website (see Resources) and download either the Windows or Linux version of the software. Install and run the software to make a disc image from your CD. ISO Master will save the image as an ISO file, which can be easily transferred to a memory stick with adequate available space using Windows Explorer.

    • 2). Visit the SlySoft website (see Resource) and download a copy of the CloneCD software. Install and run the application to start making a disc image file. CloneCD, like most other disc image applications, will produce and ISO file. Move it to your memory stick using Windows explorer when the process is complete.

    • 3). Go to the CDBurnerXP site (see Resources) and download, install and run the application. CDBurnerXP can create an ISO disc image file from a CD in your CD drive. Once complete, the file can be copied to your memory stick using Windows Explorer.

Moving the ISO with Windows Explorer

    • 1). Connect your memory stick to the computer's USB port.

    • 2). Open a new Windows Explorer window by double-clicking the "My Computer" icon on the desktop.

    • 3). Navigate to where the ISO file is saved. Right-click the file and select "Cut."

    • 4). Navigate to the memory stick in Windows Explorer and view its contents. Click "Edit" then "Paste" from the menu bar to move the ISO file onto your memory stick.
