How to Clean a Toilet and a Shower
- 1). Flush the toilet before you begin cleaning to ensure that bowl does not contain any waste or toilet paper.
- 2). Pour 1/2 cup of liquid chlorine bleach into the toilet bowl. Do not flush the toilet at this time so that the bleach has time to clean the inside of the toilet bowl.
- 3). Wet a rag in hot, soapy water. All purpose cleaner or antibacterial dish soap work fine for this purpose.
- 4). Wipe the entire outside of the toilet with the rag including the toilet tank, seat and lid to remove all visible dirt. Rinse the rag as necessary and re-wet it in the soapy water to continue cleaning.
- 5). Dry the toilet with a towel when you finish cleaning the exterior.
- 6). Scrub the inside of the toilet with a toilet brush and flush the toilet to rinse away the bleach when you finish cleaning.
- 1). Remove any hair from around the shower's drain. This will help prevent the drain from becoming clogged later.
- 2). Sprinkle baking soda onto a damp sponge and use it to scrub the shower walls, door and floor. You can use scouring powder instead, but it might leave behind scratches.
- 3). Mix 1 tbsp. of liquid chlorine bleach into approximately 4 cups of water in a plastic spray bottle if your shower still looks dirty or mildew is visible. Spray the diluted bleach mixture onto the shower and scrub it with a damp sponge.
- 4). Remove your shower curtain and wash it in your washing machine. If the shower curtain is plastic, you can safely wash it with a load of towels.
- 5). Hang the curtain up to air-dry before returning it to your clean shower.
