How to Replace the DVD Player in a Toshiba Satellite M115

- 1). Turn off your laptop off and allow it to cool down.
- 2). Lay your laptop upside down on a flat surface.
- 3). Remove the screw that holds the center panel in place and remove the panel. This panel contains the computer's RAM. The panel can be identified by its 17 parallel ventilation slits.
- 4). Take out the RAM card.
- 5). Remove the screw on the inside of the RAM slot. The screw is located on the side of the slot closest to the DVD drive. It is the only screw that holds the DVD drive in place.
- 6). Press on the back of the DVD drive, through the RAM slot, using the screwdriver.
- 7). Pull the DVD drive out of the laptop.
- 1). Insert the new DVD drive into the laptop.
- 2). Fasten the DVD drive into place with the screw from the RAM card slot.
- 3). Replace the RAM card.
- 4). Replace the RAM card slot cover and the original screw.
