How to Clean a Fiberglass Sink

    • 1). Dampen a soft cloth or sponge with warm water. Do not use a scouring pad or any type of abrasive cleaning mechanism, as you can easily scratch your fiberglass surface. Sprinkle baking soda over your dampened cloth.

    • 2). Scrub the entire inner and outer surface of your fiberglass surface, using your soft cloth or sponge. Scrub firmly to remove water deposits, stains and dirt. Use a second damp cloth to wipe down the sink and remove the baking soda.

    • 3). Apply a mild abrasive such as Bon Ami, Bril-Glow or Soft Scrub to remove stubborn stains when baking soda alone fails to do the trick. Apply the product as recommended by the manufacturer, and scrub with a soft cloth or sponge. Rinse with warm water.

    • 4). Apply a calcium remover such as CLR, Lime-A-Way or 5-percent household vinegar if hard water stains remain. Products like these have a low enough acid content for safe use on fiberglass, but only apply them as needed. Do not use them as part of your routine cleaning. Rinse with warm water.

    • 5). Apply an oxygen bleach if stains remain even after you have exhausted every other cleaning method. You can purchase a commercial bleach or make your own oxygen bleach solution at home by mixing 1 part hydrogen peroxide, 1 part baking soda and 2 parts hot water. Apply the bleach to your stains, wait an hour and scrub with your soft cloth.
