How to Fix a Sound Device on an Everex Computer

    • 1). Inspect the cable connection running from your computer to the audio device. Make sure the cable is inserted completely into the connection port on the computer. If not, the audio is not going to make it to/from the computer system to the audio equipment.

    • 2). Double-click the audio volume control icon in the lower right corner of the desktop. If the audio is muted or down, nothing plays over the speakers. You also want to make sure the speakers are powered on.

    • 3). Select "Start," "Control Panel" and choose the audio options icon. Select the "Recording" feature, then choose the device you are recording from (Line-In). If this is not selected your computer may not import the audio into your computer while using a microphone or other connected device.

    • 4). Install the drivers for the hardware. Without the drivers your computer may not detect the equipment. Insert the driver installation CD and follow the prompts of the installation wizard when it appears. If you don't have a driver installation CD navigate to the manufacturer's website, choose "Support," "Downloads" and select the item you need drivers for. Click the "Download" tab on the screen and wait for the drivers to download directly to your computer. Once finished double-click the download to launch the installation wizard. Follow the prompts until you have finished installing the driver.
