How to Plant Banana Trees in Ohio

    • 1). Pick a 10- to 20-gallon container with eight to 10 drainage holes in the bottom.

    • 2). Fill the pot halfway with potting soil. Unwrap the burlap from the banana tree and dig a planting hole in the container soil. Place the banana tree into the hole, making sure the top of the tree is about 1 to 2 inches below the top of the container.

    • 3). Fill the container with more potting soil until it is 1 inch below the lip of the container.

    • 4). Irrigate the banana tree until water leaks out of the bottom of the container.
