How to Draw an Ice Cream Cone
- 1). Draw a rectangle in pencil with a capped upper rim that measures approximately one-quarter the width of the rectangle. For a sugar cone, draw an upside down triangle. Center your cone on the page so you have enough room to draw ice cream scoops on top.
- 2). Erase the pencil line between the upper rim and lower rectangle or erase the shortest leg of your upside down triangle if drawing a sugar cone. Removing the line gives your drawing some visual continuity before drawing the ice cream.
- 3). Draw a semi-circle over the top of the cone. Connect the bottom half of the semicircle to the cone with small half-loops similar to the lower half of a cloud illustration. The semi-circle top shows where the ice cream scooper shaped the ice cream.
- 4). Color the cone with brown or beige marker and the ice cream with your choice of color. Draw hatch marks on the cone for the waffle imprint. Outline the entire perimeter of the ice cream cone in black pen or marker to make the drawing stand out.
