- 1). Cut a small hole in the lid of the two liter bottle just big enough for the small tube to fit in it. Slide the tube down into the hole until it is about 3 cm below the cap. Finally, seal the hole with your silicone sealant to make the entire device air tight.
- 2). Mix the yeast, baking soda, and sugar into the water and dissolve all the materials well. Once dissolved and thoroughly mixed, pour your solution into the bottle and seal the cap on tight.
- 3). Bury the end of the plastic tube into the soil of your house plant and keep the two liter bottle level and sideways so the liquid contents don't empty into the soil. Since the bottle is airtight, the yeast will resort to anaerobic reactions and begin to produce carbon dioxide. With nowhere to go except out the tube, the carbon dioxide will empty into the soil and eventually reach the plant.
