How to Disassemble a Rolex
- 1). Remove the bezel and glass by gently prying it up with the small flathead screwdriver included in your watch repair tool set.
- 2). Remove the day indicator with a pair of tweezers to reveal the underlying mechanical parts of the Rolex.
- 3). Remove the date jumper maintaining plate on the left-hand side using a pair of tweezers.
- 4). Loosen and remove the screw that sits on the right-hand side, where the dial for the third hour would be placed. This screw secures the date indicator maintaining plate, which you will then remove with your pair of tweezers.
- 5). Pry the jumpers spring, found on the left-hand side of the watch assembly, using a flathead screwdriver.
- 6). Pry out and remove the crescent-shaped metal pieces that serve as the day jumper and date jumper. These are located directly next to the jumper spring you removed in the previous step.
- 7). Remove the circular date indicator by gently prying it up and out of place.
- 8). Pry up and remove the gear-shaped double corrector on the right-hand side of the watch.
- 9). Pry up the date platform, the circular metal plate that houses the date indicator, to complete the disassembly. You will now be able to access the intricate mechanical parts that power the minute, hour and second indicators and remove or repair them as necessary.
