How to Repair an In-Ground Vinyl Pool

    • 1). Drain the pool to make it easier to repair the torn liner. Do not drain the pool completely unless the hole is at the bottom of the pool. Keeping the pool half full will prevent you from having to re-mold the liner to the pool wall.

    • 2). Inspect the hole to be repaired, and then cut the vinyl patch into a circle. The size of the patch needs to be at least twice the size of the hole it is covering.

    • 3). Spread a thick amount of vinyl adhesive onto one side of the patch. It does not matter which side is glued down.

    • 4). Cover the torn area with the patch, placing it evenly over the hole, and then press down on it very firmly all the way around. Allow the adhesive to dry for 24 hours before refilling the rest of the pool.
