Cure Agoraphobia With 7 Different Techniques

Agoraphobia is not a disease but rather a disorder.
Studies have shown that it affects a third of those with panic disorders while the remainder is caused by a significant event.
Can it be cured? Certainly but this will involve some effort on your part because the doctor can only do so much.
Doctors who specialize in panic disorders and agoraphobia will most likely prescribe medication to the patient.
They will prescribe either tranquilizers or antidepressants whichever works best for your condition.
If this doesn't work, they will try to increase the dosage or another drug.
Since some patients do not respond well to medication, this is the time that other recovery techniques are used.
1) Behavior Therapy One method is known as behavior therapy.
This technique is designed to change the attitude of that person towards the trigger or the event that he or she fears the most.
Since this technique has limitations, something that can achieve better results will be cognitive behavioral therapy or CBT.
What makes this very effective is the fact that they correct the irrational thoughts in the patient's head so he or she will be able to recover.
Sometimes, our fear is deep in our subconscious and if we want to overcome these anxieties, we have to go there through hypnosis.
Sometimes people think that putting yourself in this situation will make you reveal secret things.
That is just a myth.
You are still in control during the session and the professional administering it is doing this to help you get rid of this disorder.
The truth is that everyone is in a state of hypnosis twice a day.
That period of wakefulness just before falling asleep and the same state as you are awakening.
2) Herbal Medicines Another way to cure agoraphobia is by using herbal medicines.
Two herbs commonly used are Kava Kava and Valerian.
They help calm the nerves and the best part is that it does not have any side effects like those of conventional drugs.
3) Emotional Freedom Techniques Emotional freedom techniques have also had some success with patients.
Developed in 1970, it taps the body's 365 acupressure points in order to restore energy flow.
Some call this emotional acupuncture and is done by tapping certain places on your head and chest.
Together with positive affirmation, it clears the emotional blocks that hinder electromagnetic energy from flowing throughout the body.
Unlike the recovery techniques, one or two sessions should do the trick.
The patient can even learn how to this on their own just like self- hypnosis.
4) Psychodynamic Therapy Insight therapy also known as psychodynamic therapy may also be used to cure agoraphobia.
It is designed to reveal the underlying causes of agoraphobia in a patient.
This can only work, of course, if the patient talks about it.
5) Biofeedback Biofeedback may cure agoraphobia by learning how to control these anxieties so you no longer give in to them.
6) Meditation Meditation, a popular technique used by athletes and in other disorders may also cure agoraphobia.
The best part is that you only have to sit in a comfortable position, breath deeply and then let the positive energy flow in while the negative energy goes out.
7) Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing or EMDR is one of the newest forms of therapy that is designed to cure agoraphobia.
It has helped patients who have sustained child abuse or trauma.
This works by making the person revisit the tragic event so the painful feelings can be exchanged with resolved feelings, love and peace.
Which one will be the cure for you? That is something you will have to find out for yourself.
Some doctors may let you try one at a time while others are used simultaneously.
Yet the end result is still the same and that is to cure agoraphobia.
This may happen after a few weeks or even months so you have to be prepared for what lies ahead.
