How to Make Yellow With Orange, Blue & Green Paint
- 1). Measure out one cup of orange paint and set it aside. Note that orange is a combination of two parts red and one part green, so you already have a mixed paint.
- 2). Pour out one cup of green paint. Yellow is a combination of red and green in equal parts. By adding one cup of green to the orange, you will have equal parts of red and green, and the mixture will turn yellow when stirred.
- 3). Measure out half a cup of blue. Stir portions of this color into the yellow mixture you made from orange and green. Start with as little as a teaspoon, and add more until you see the desired shade of yellow you want. Green is related to blue, so be conservative. The two paints together can quickly overpower the yellow. Mix until you have a blue-based yellow color.
- 4). Once you have the shade you want, you can substitute other measures for cups and teaspoons to make larger quantities of yellow. For example, instead of one cup, you can add one gallon. Similarly, you can multiply teaspoons to make them into cups. There are 48 teaspoons in a cup.
