Pennsylvania is a state rich in American history. This Quaker founded state has plenty of history, big city fun and natural resources. Pennsylvania is a large state to explore but luckily for you I’ve put together my best RV sites, grounds and parks for the Keystone State.

Yogi Bear’s Jellystone, Mill Run

Stay at this park to get all the great amenities and features of the Jellystone chain of campgrounds along with the beautiful setting of Mill Run.


You get all the great amenities you’d expect from Jellystone at Mill Run such as full utility hookups, cable TV and wireless internet. You have clean and bright bathrooms, laundry facilities and how showers. There is also a general store/gift shop, restaurant, camping supplies and group use pavilions.

The Mill Run Jellystone is very family friendly. You have a huge waterpark, carousel rides, mini-golf, on site fishing and wagon rides just to name a few, and that’s all within the park. Nearby you have the sprawling Ohiopyle Falls State Park, Living Treasures Animal Park, Bear Run Nature Preserve, white water rafting and the Idlewild Amusment Park. Not to mention Pittsburgh is just over an hour away if you want to experience the Steel City.

Twin Grove RV Resort & Cottages: Pine Grove

Where else can you find a great resort will full amenities near fun for outdoor and chocolate lovers alike other than at Twin Grove RV Resort. The amenities and facilities are highly rated, Twin Grove can accommodate RVs up to 100’ feet in length on some of its 212 RV sites.

All sites come with 30/50 amp electric, water and sewer hookups. The restrooms, laundry and shower facilities pulled in 9.5/10 from the Good Sam Club so you know they’re clean and spacious. Other amenities include a movie theater, fitness center, dog parks and more.

There is plenty of family friendly activities within Twin Grove including two swimming pools, live music, planned activities, 18 hole disc golf course, mini golf, arcade room and plenty more. The park is adjacent to the 3500 acre Swatara State Park for all your outdoor fun and close to Hershey headquarters for chocolate lovers. Other nearby areas of interest include Hollywood Casino and the famous Pennsylvania Amish community.

Red Rock Mountain Campground: Benton

This quaint campground is a great start to explore the expansive Ricketts Glen State Park. Amenities at Red Rock Mountain Campground aren’t luxurious but the scenery makes up for it by a long shot. All RV sites are equipped with electric, water and sewer hookups. The bathrooms and showers are also clean and ready for your use. There are picnic tables and grills available for public use as well as a flea market/antique store on site at this beautifully wooded park.

You can spend hours perusing through all the items at the antique store but you also need to get out and experience the area. Red Rock Mountain Campground is just down the road from the gorgeous Ricketts Glen State Park. There are miles of trails and waterfalls, the grandest being the 94 foot Gonoga Falls. You also have Lake Jean in the area which can take care of all of your boating, fishing and swimming needs. If you somehow get tired of Ricketts Glen, World’s End State Park is located less than an hour away in the World’s End Mountains.

Gettysburg/Battlefield KOA: Gettysburg

The Gettysburg / Battlefield KOA is tailor made for RVers and amateur historians. Fortunately, you don’t have to live like they did in the 19^th century. There several options for sites, the best sites come with full utility hookups, cable TV and wireless, a picnic table and a glider. The bathroom, shower and laundry facilities are top notch. This KOA also houses a public use kitchen, snack bar, pool, mini-golf, bike rentals and plenty more.

This KOA is called the Battlefield KOA for a reason. You can take a shuttle to tour the site of the Battle of Gettysburg, one of the bloodiest battles ever fought on American soil. Our suggested way of visiting the site is in a classic 1930s Yellowstone tour bus. The Gettysburg area is full of additional museums and sites including the American Civil War Museum, the Hall of Presidents and First Ladies and Underground Railroad tours just to name a few.

Otter Lake Camp Resort: East Stroudsburg

This fun and friendly campsite is located in the Pocono region of Pennsylvania. There are plenty of facilities and amenities for RVers at Otter Lake Camp Resort, each site comes with full utility hookups, with cable TV and Wi-Fi included. The shower facilities and restrooms are warm, inviting and feature privacy areas. Otter Lake rounds out its facilities with two laundromats, a camp store with RV supplies, a game room, rec hall and group pavilion areas.

Otter Lake Resort is right on the shores of you guessed it, Otter Lake. This 60 acre lake offers fishing, swimming, boating and a beach to play around in. You have plenty of outdoor fun in the Pocono region including the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area and Bushkill Falls. Other local attractions include the National Canal Museum, the Crayola Experience, the trains of Steamtown and Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark. Those itching for history can take a daytrip to Philadelphia, less than two hours away.
