Safety Awareness Training Tips
- Never assume that you, your vehicle or your home are safe for any short period of time. If you are leaving the house for just a moment, or running in to grab something quickly in a store, lock up behind you and take your keys with you.
- Always be aware of what is going on around you at all times. Keep a look out for strangers that make you uncomfortable and be alert in case something unexpected should happen.
- Keep a constant eye on your valuables. Never leave your purse or wallet unattended for any length of time in a public place.
- Prior to publishing photos and information about yourself on public social networking websites, make sure you want people to be able to identify you on the Internet easily. It may be a good idea to hold back from using your real name and photos of yourself on the Internet to avoid becoming the victim of a predator.
- Do not put your address on your key ring in the hopes that someone will throw them in the mail to return them to you if you have lost them. An address on a key ring makes a thief's job easier.
