DIY Fabric Flowers for Babies

    • 1). Thread the needle with 24 inches of thread and knot one end of the thread.

    • 2). Sew 1/2-inch long basting stitches along one long edge of the ribbon, 1/4 inch from the edge.

    • 3). Draw up the thread to half its original length to gather the ribbon.

    • 4). Fold the end of the ribbon closest to the needle over 1/2 inch and stitch it in place with the needle and thread.

    • 5). Coil up the gathered ribbon, attaching it to itself with small stitches every inch on the back side of the flower.

    • 6). Fold the ribbon end to the back and stitch it in place. Knot and cut the yarn. Sew the completed flower to the desired baby item.
