- 1). Make thorough and detailed measurements of the bath dimensions. Measure the height, width and depth at several points. Include the inside and outside of the unit.
- 2). Submit the measurements to the liner factory where the bath liner will be cast with acrylic by thermo-forming acrylic sheeting over a mold of the old bath.
- 3). Remove all fixtures and scour the old bath with denatured alcohol to remove all grime and mildew. Scrape away old caulking.
- 4). Apply a preferred, water-resistant adhesive (the Liquid Nail Construction Adhesive Company produces one type) and a 100 percent silicone sealant to the old unit. Put new bath liner in place and caulk the seams.
- 5). Replace or install new fixtures. Seal the fixtures to prevent water from seeping into the space between the liner and the old tub.
- 6). Do not use the newly lined tub for 24 hours to allow the adhesive and sealants to gel and harden.
