How to Make Folded Paper Cupcakes

    • 1). Cut one piece of the brown or peach construction paper into a circle about three inches in diameter to form the base of the cupcake.

    • 2). Cut a second piece of brown or peach construction paper that is two inches tall and nine inches long.

    • 3). Fold the second piece of brown or peach construction paper over on itself (accordion style) until it forms a piece that its about 1/4-inch wide.

    • 4). Set the circular base you cut out in Step 1 on a flat surface such as a table. Then stand the accordion-style paper you folded in Step 3 around the inside edge of the circular base to form the sides of the cupcake. Fold the bottom edge of the accordion-style paper in toward the center of the circle.

    • 5). Apply liquid glue to the folded edge of the accordion-style paper and attach it to the circular base, pressing the folded edge gently with your fingers. Let the glue dry for 15 minutes.

    • 6). Cut out two pieces of the construction paper that is another color. The pieces should be three inches in height and four inches long.

    • 7). Bend one of the pieces from Step 6 across the opening formed by the sides of the cupcake to form the cupcake's frosting. Apply glue to the top and bottom edges of this piece and press those edges into the inside of the accordion-folded paper that forms the cupcake's sides.

    • 8). Arc the other piece from Step 6 perpendicularly across the top of the attached piece in Step 7 to cover the gaps left in the cupcake's frosting and attach it to the sides of the cupcake as in Step 7. The colored construction paper should now form a sort of bulb of frosting on top of the accordion-folded sides.

    • 9). Decorate the cupcake by drizzling liquid glue over the top of the cupcake and shaking glitter over the top of the glue to form colored frosting. Use the single hole punch to punch holes in the scraps of left over paper. Sprinkle the paper circles the hole punch cuts out to make sprinkles for the cupcake. Let all glue dry for 15 minutes.
