Motorcycle Tours of Norway

    Nordic Bike Adventure

    • The Nordic Bike Adventure Company headquartered in Kristiansand offers two motorcycle tours of Norway: the Trail of the Trolls and the North Cape Tour. The two-week Trail of the Trolls takes you on an 1800 to 3800-mile motorcycle excursion through mountains and fjords of Norway's eastern interior. Tours begin in Kristiansand and travel to Lillehammer, host of the 1994 Winter Olympics, then on through the Rondane and Dovre alpine mountains. The tour continues to the west coast, then turns south toward the sharp switchbacks of "The Golden Route." Motorcyclists ride through unique structures like the Lysebotn tunnel, which spirals 340 degrees. In 2010, touring prices are $5829 for rider and $3600 for passenger.

The three-week North Cape Tour follows a 3100 to 7500-mile route through the northern regions. From Kristiansand, the tour heads north to Trondheim, Norway's first capital, then to the islands of Lofoten and as far north as Mageroya, also called The Barren Island. The tour then returns south to Kristiansand by way of the southern coast. Motorcyclists cross the Arctic Circle back to Trondheim, where they can in the historic sites like the Nidaros Cathedral. Tour prices are $9257 for rider and $6000 for passenger as of 2010. All tours include a luggage support vehicle, motorcycle rental with unlimited mileage, hotel accommodations, breakfast, dinner and tour guide.
