How Do I Clean Hard-Water Stains From Stainless Steel Sinks?

- 1). Combine 1 part baking soda with 1 part vinegar to form a paste. Rub the paste onto areas with heavy water deposit buildup, such as around drains and fixtures. Leave the paste on the spots for five minutes.
- 2). Scrub the paste-covered spots with a soft cloth or nonabrasive sponge. Rinse the paste residue away with clear water.
- 3). Soak a cloth in undiluted vinegar. Wipe down the the entire sink and the faucet assembly. The acids in the vinegar dissolve most water spots.
- 4). Lay the vinegar-soaked cloth over any stubborn spots that don't wipe up easily. Leave the cloth in place for five minutes to loosen the deposits, then wipe them away with the cloth.
- 5). Rinse the sink and faucet with clear water. Wipe dry.
