How to Clean a Glass & Brass Chandelier
- 1). Place an old blanket under the chandelier to help safely catch any prisms that may fall when taking down the chandelier.
- 2). Remove the chandelier carefully if possible. Remove it gently from its secured location, and place it on top of the blanket.
- 3). Fill a dish with warm water and dish soap. The dish soap will safely clean the glass prisms while also drying without streaks or film.
- 4). Dip a soft cleaning cloth into the soapy water, wring out the cloth, and remove the glass prisms one by one and clean. Wipe over both sides of the prism, hold up to the light to make sure you have removed all residue, and place each prism onto a towel to dry. Repeat until you have cleaned all glass prisms.
- 5). Wipe down the brass structure of the chandelier as the glass prisms are drying. Use a soft cloth and buff in small circular motions. No cleaner or polish is required to clean the brass.
- 6). Place the glass prisms back onto the brass structure once they have dried, and hang the chandelier back onto its secured location.
