How to Make a Stuffed Animal Cat

    • 1
      Cat pattern and embellished kitty

Draw the outline of a cat on white card stock (see illustration in this step). Cut out the pattern with scissors.

    • 2). Fold the fabric in half, right side in, and lay flat on work table for the front and back of a stuffed cat. Lay the paper pattern on top of the fabric. Cut the fabric around the pattern with scissors.

    • 3). On the sewing machine with coordinated thread, straight stitch around the fabric 1/4-inch from the edge, but leave a 6-inch opening on the bottom (to stuff the cat). Turn the fabric right side out. Fill firmly with polyester stuffing. If necessary, use the point of the scissors to push the stuffing in.

    • 4). Apply a line of hot glue along the bottom opening of the fabric cat and press closed. Attach embellishments with hot glue, such as two contrasting plastic buttons for eyes, a 6-inch cord for a tail or other decorations as desired.

    • 5). Paint a little nose and whiskers on the cat's face with acrylic paint. Let dry.
