Instructions to Refill an HP 95 Print Cartridge

    • 1). Put the cartridge on a level work surface where you can clean up ink spills. Put several paper towels between the cartridge and any other surface to protect the surfaces from splashing ink.

    • 2). Remove the label from the top of the cartridge and throw the label away. Remove any label remnants or film from the cartridge, especially around the three tiny holes on the top of the cartridge.

    • 3). Fill three different syringes with 6 mL of yellow, magenta or cyan ink by inserting the needle into the bottle opening, then pulling up on the syringe's plunger. Place the ink cartridge on the work surface so one hole sits on the side farthest away from you and the other two holes sit on your left and right.

    • 4). Insert the syringe with the yellow ink in the hole furthest away from you, the syringe with the magenta ink in the hole on your left and the syringe with the cyan ink on your right. Inject the ink slowly into the holes in the top of the ink cartridge. Place your fingers over the holes that you are not currently filling to prevent any ink from coming out of the cartridge.

    • 5). Clean up any spilled ink on the cartridge with a paper towel. Reinstall the cartridge into the printer and run the print-head cleaning utility up to three times so the cartridge works properly. If the ink coverage has not improved to normal, leave the cartridge in the printer and leave the printer off overnight.
