Removing Table Wax

    • 1). Put on rubber gloves to protect your skin during the wax-removal process.

    • 2). Mix 1 oz. gum turpentine and 1/4 cup boiled linseed oil in a small bucket. Stir well with a paint stirrer to create a wax-removing solution.

    • 3). Dip a fine steel wool pad in the turpentine and oil mixture. Rub the mixture on the surface of your wood table moving the steel wool with the grain of the wood. As the old wax loosens from the table wipe it up with an old towel before continuing to strip the wax from the rest of the table.

Combine two caps of saddle soap with 1 gallon warm water in a bucket. Soak a clean towel in the mild soap solution and wash off the surface of the wood table to remove any remaining wax residue and wax-removal solution.
