How to Clean Burned Carpet
- 1). Sand the scorch marks with a light sandpaper. Clean the debris with a vacuum.
- 2). Cut away the burnt carpet fibers with a razor. Alternatively, you can use scissors or a knife.
- 3). Spray the area with carpet cleaner to eliminate any stains from the burn.
- 4). Shave a handful of fibers off the carpet from a hidden section of carpet (under the couch, for example). Using carpet cement, glue the shaved carpet fibers to the floor in the burnt area. This is only necessary if the burn was severe enough to burn a hole completely through the carpet.
