- 1). Air your gloves out after each workout. It can be easy to ignore your equipment after a hard session, but by airing your gloves straight away you can significantly reduce bacteria and odor. Hang them up in a cool area or use the cool setting on a blow-dryer and aim it inside the gloves.
- 2). Fill a pair of old socks with an absorbent, such as sawdust or cedar chips. Tie the open ends and then place the socks inside the gloves. The absorbent materials reduce moisture, which prevents bacterial growth. They also add a more pleasant smell to the interior of the glove.
- 3). Spray a mixture of water and alcohol into the glove to freshen it. This method helps you get to the key areas where bacteria develops and to prevent buildup.
- 4). Store your gloves in a ventilated place to keep them fresh.
