How to Make Fast Simple Crochet Slippers

    • 1). Chain seven. Half double in the third chain from the hook. The beginning chain counts as a half double crochet stitch, now and throughout. Half double crochet twice in each remaining chain, for a total of 10 half double crochet stitches. This beginning row is the toe of the slipper.

    • 2). Chain two and turn. Half double crochet in the first stitch. Half double crochet twice in each of the remaining stitches, for a total of 20 half double crochet stitches.

    • 3). Chain two and turn. Half double crochet in the base of the chain two. Half double crochet once in the next stitch and twice in the next, repeating this pattern across the row. End with one half double crochet in the last stitch, for a total of 30 half double crochet stitches.

    • 4). Chain two and turn. Half double crochet once in each stitch across the row. Repeat this row 11 more times.

    • 5). Chain eight and turn. Half double crochet in the third chain from the hook, in each chain stitch and in each stitch of the row, for a total of 36 half double crochet stitches.

    • 6). Chain eight and turn. Half double crochet in the third chain from the hook, in each chain stitch and in each stitch of the row, for a total of 42 half double crochet stitches.

    • 7). Chain two and turn. Half double crochet once in each stitch across the row. Repeat this row nine more times. The crocheted piece will resemble a "T".

    • 8). Fold the slipper in half, matching the ends of the rows together. This will give you the shape of the slipper, similar to a boot. The last row crocheted is now folded in half with the ends matching. Insert the crochet hook through the last stitch and the first stitch of the last row crocheted and chain one. Single crochet the row together, ending at the heel. Fasten off and weave in the ends.

    • 9). Insert the hook at the beginning of the toe on the slipper. Single crochet the ends of the rows together. This will enclose the top of the slipper. Continue to single crochet the stitches of the remaining stitches on the first row of 42 half double crochet stitches. This will enclose the front side of the slipper's ankle. Fasten off the yarn and weave in the ends.

Turn the slipper right side out. Repeat the steps to complete two slippers.
