- 1). Fold a clean paper towel into a small, compact square. Dampen the paper towel with 1 tbsp. rubbing alcohol.
- 2). Rub the rubbing alcohol onto the stain for 30 seconds using medium to firm pressure. The rubbing alcohol should either remove or lighten the stain. Move to Step 3 if the marker stain isn't fully removed, only lightened.
- 3). Gently rub the stained area with fine 500-grit sandpaper. Continue rubbing only the stained area for 15 to 30 seconds. Sandpaper helps dull and physically remove the stain.
- 4). Fold a second clean paper towel into a small, compact square. Dampen the paper towel with 1 tbsp. nonvolatile water-displacing lubricant.
- 5). Rub the lubricant onto the stain for 30 seconds with medium to firm pressure. Allow one hour for the rubber to air-dry before handling.
