Evernote is a powerful tool with a lot to offer, so why not make it your own?
This slide show is your guide for 10 ways to customize Evernote's look and feel. In my experience, desktop versions have more options for customization than the web or mobile versions, but you should be able to find some new ideas for using this note-taking tools on various devices.

Change the Default Font in Evernote
Desktop versions of Evernote allow you to specify a default font for notes. This means future notes will be created with the default font.
For example, in Windows go to Tools - Options - Note.
Use Evernote Shortcuts to Make Taking Notes Even Simpler
In Evernote, you can create up to 250 shortcuts for notes, notebooks, stacks, searches, and more. The shortcut sidebar is conveniently located to the left of the interface, and can be customized.
For example, in the Android tablet versions, I did this by long tapping or right-clicking the note (without opening it) and selecting Add to Shortcuts. Or, drag and drop a notebook to the Shortcuts on the side bar to the left.
Add a Note to the Evernote Home Screen
Want a certain note front and center whenever you open Evernote? The first thing you see is the Evernote Home Screen, so it makes sense to place priority items there.
In the Android tablet version, I long tapped or right-clicked the note before opening it and selected Home Screen.
Or select the triple-square icon in the upper right while in the note, then select Home Screen.
Customize Note Views in Evernote
You can customize how notes sort and display in Evernote.
To customize how notes appear within a notebook, take a look at the upper right of the interface. In the desktop Windows version, I found options under View.
Notice the drop-down menu option for Cards, Expanded Cards, Snippets, or List, depending on your account type and device.
Users have a couple options for displaying notebooks on some devices.
In the upper right of the Notebooks screen, you may notice the toggle option between a List View and Grid View.
Turn Left Panel Displays On or Off in Evernote
In desktop versions of Evernote, you can streamline the interface by turning left panel options such as note, notebook, tag, and navigation panels on or off.
For example, the Left Panel display has default settings which you should be able to customize in desktop versions. For example, in Windows, select View - Left Panel.
Customize the Evernote Toolbar
In Evernote, you can customize the toolbar in desktop versions.
For example, in the Windows version, you can open a note then select Tools - Customize Toolbar. Options include showing or hiding tools or inserting separator lines between tools, which can create a more organized appearance.
Change Language Options in Evernote
Evernote is available in several languages, including dictionary settings.
For example, in the Windows desktop version, change the language through Tools - Options - Language.
Disable or Enable Auto Title in Evernote
In mobile versions of Evernote, the default setting is likely set for titles to be automatically generated.
Turn auto titling of new notes on or off by visiting Settings - Note Creation Settings, then selecting or deselecting the box.
Customize Clipping Options in Evernote
In desktop versions, you can opt to show word count, character count, file size, and more by showing the Status Bar. Turn this on or off under View.
Set a default Evernote notebook folder for web clippings, customize how windows launch, and more in desktop versions.
In the Windows desktop version, for example, find these settings under Tools - Options - Clipping.
