How to Disable USB Ports in Windows XP

    • 1). Press and hold the "Windows" key. Press and release the "R" key. This key combination brings up the "Run" window.

    • 2). Enter "devmgmt.msc" into the text box in the "Run" window and press the "Enter" key. This opens the "Device Manager" window.

    • 3). Click the plus sign next to the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" entry to expand the list of available ports.

    • 4). Right-click the entry for the USB port you wish to disable.

    • 5). Click "Disable" in the drop-down menu.
