How to Install a High Speed USB Port to Windows XP Home Edition

- 1). Insert into your optical drive the CD or DVD that was included with your USB card. Follow the onscreen guide to install the software. After installation is complete, restart so that your changes take effect.
- 2). Power off your computer or laptop. Install the USB card into the appropriate PCMCIA or PCI slot.
- 3). Power on the computer or laptop once the physical installation is complete. After Windows XP has finished loading, plug a high-powered USB device into the new USB slot to confirm that the hardware is working.
